UNC System Faculty Assembly (FA)

Description

The UNC Faculty Assembly is a system-wide advisory body that meets regularly to discuss issues of concern to faculty and to advise the Office of the President with respect to those issues. The Faculty Assembly is the elected body of representatives of the faculty of the seventeen campuses of the University of North Carolina. Its objectives are set forth in the Assembly Charter. The Assembly is dedicated to upholding and exercising the principles of academic freedom, shared governance, tenure, and the faculty's primary responsibility for the University's curriculum. The UNCP faculty sends three representatives (or alternates), elected by the general faculty, to represent its interests and to express its views to the Assembly. For more information on the UNC Faculty Assembly, see the website for the UNC General Administration at https://www.northcarolina.edu/faculty-assembly/ and the website for the UNC Faculty Assembly at http://www.uncfacultyassembly.org/.
