Scholars in the Making
Funded by the Mellon Foundation, Research Engagement Action Community Humanities (REACH)
allows you to conduct research with a faculty mentor, attend conferences and access
funding for graduate school prep. With resources like the Summer Research Exploration
Program, this initiative paves the way for advanced studies in the humanities and
beyond.
Being able to present my research on the national level has been an amazing experience. This opportunity will hopefully provide me more opportunities in the future, whether in the workforce or more academic settings such as grad school.
Build Community
Get involved with student-led clubs and organizations that match your interests and career goals. Develop leadership skills and make lifelong friends while engaging in activities!
I have found many ways to connect with other students, faculty and staff on campus. There are so many options for clubs and organizations; there's something for everyone.

Interim Associate Dean for Curriculum and Student Success, College of Arts and Sciences Beginning in fall 2026, UNC Pembroke will offer a new Bachelor of Science in Agriculture — a program designed to prepare students to lead the future of farming while strengthening one of the region’s most vital economic engines. Mia Baca’s coral reef artwork draws viewers in with beauty, then asks them to look closer at the realities of pollution and climate change.
