Sponsored Research and Programs

Cayuse is replacing RAMSeS

Cayuse Implementation Information:

The Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP) is currently in the process of transitioning to a new electronic research administration system called Cayuse. Cayuse is a cloud-based software system designed to enhance our electronic research administration infrastructure, support efficient proposal and award management, and provide superior reporting capabilities. The Cayuse platform will allow us to integrate information from all of our programs in one location, streamlining workflow and improving the experience of users across campus. Cayuse will replace RAMSeS (proposal submissions) and AIR (conflict of interest disclosures).

Proposal Submissions prior to July 2022: OSRP will transfer 5 yrs. of RAMSeS proposal and awards data into Cayuse SP. Plans to migrate file attachments are in development and users can download file attachments from RAMSeS through June 30, 2022.

Any changes to a RAMSeS data record occurring after June 23, 2022, including file uploads, will not be reflected in the corresponding (legacy) Cayuse SP data record.

New submissions as of July 1, 2022: In order to allow data migration in to Cayuse, we will have a blackout period from July 1 to July 22. During the blackout period, we will transfer the RAMSeS data into Cayuse and upload the attachments and additional information. If you have a proposal during this period of time, please contact osrp@uncp.edu for assistance and instructions.

Planned roll out dates of modules:

  1. Sponsored Projects/Proposals (replaces RAMSeS): August 15, 2022
  2. Outside Interests (Conflicts of Interest, replaces AIR): September 15, 2022

Training: OSRP will schedule training for the campus community after the blackout period.

For questions about using Cayuse, please contact the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs at osrp@uncp.edu  or contact one of the Sponsored Research team.

The mission of the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP) is to provide support to UNCP’s faculty, staff, and students in their research, scholarship, and public service endeavors and to advance the university’s mission by providing leadership and expertise in research administration.
