Self-Service Password Reset

Never Lose Access to Your Account Again

The Division of Information Technology has made it easier than ever for you to recover your password if you forget it. We have collaborated with Microsoft to use their Self-Service Password Reset utility. After registering, you will be able to reset, unlock, or change your password without having to contact the DoIT Help Desk.

Register here for Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) to enable the feature. Use your UNCP Office 365 credentials.

  • Students (username@bravemail.uncp.edu and password)
  • Faculty/Staff (username@uncp.edu and password)

You will be able to add a safe and secure two-step verification method for your online credentials from a range of authentication options (such as phone call, text message, or alternate email). It is recommended that you set up as many methods as you can. This gives you flexibility when one of the methods isn't available.

Alternately, when logging into your UNCP email online for the first time, you may be redirected to a “don't lose access to your account!” page that asks you to set up authentication for phone, email or using security questions. This is a valid request and you can complete the SSPR registration by providing the information there.

Then if you ever forget your password, you can reset it yourself by going to https://aka.ms/sspr. You can also use the “Can't access your account?” link on the Office 365 Sign in page.

After changing your password, don’t forget to update your saved passwords in other locations, including email on mobile devices, desktop computers, and wireless.

If you are unable to reset your password using these steps, call or go by the DoIT Help Desk for further assistance. Assistance for account credentials cannot be provided by email.
