How to Access BraveWifi

Faculty, staff and students use the following information to connect to BraveWifi.

  • For computers, verify that the wireless adapter is on. Normally a button or switch on the keyboard or body of the laptop controls this. Locate the wireless network icon in the system tray and click on it.  The list of available wireless networks is displayed.
  • If the computer will not display any web page, you may need to check the network configuration settings

 

Connecting a PC
  1. Connect to BraveWifi, check the box to Connect automatically, and then click Connect.
  2. Log in with your network (BraveWeb) username and password.
  3. Click Connect and then you’ll have Internet access.

 

Connecting a Mac
  1. Connect to BraveWifi.
  2. Log in with your network (BraveWeb) username and password.
  3. Check the box to Remember this network and click Join.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Next, enter your Mac computer username and password, then click Update Settings.  (Note: This username and password is your log in for the Mac computer, not your BraveWeb username/password.).
  6. You will then have Internet access.

 

Connecting an iPhone/iPad
  1. From the home screen, select Settings, Wi-Fi, BraveWifi and then enter your network (BraveWeb) username and password. Click Join.
  2. Select Trust and then you’ll have Internet access.

 

Connecting an Android Device or Chromebook
  1. Connect to BraveWifi.
  2. For EAP method select PEAP.
  3. For Phase 2 authentication select MSCHAPV2.
  4. For CA Certificate select Don’t validate.
  5. For Identity enter your BraveWeb username.
  6. Anonymous identity leave it blank.
  7. For Password enter your BraveWeb password.
  8. Select Auto reconnect.
  9. Click Connect and then you’ll have Internet access.

Devices that Do Not Work on the UNCP Network
  1. Chromecast
  2. Routers
  3. Wireless Printers (can only be used with a cable and the wireless capability turned off)
