As a supervisor, you are responsible for talent acquisition, talent management, and talent development, all of which can be quite daunting. The Office of Human Resources is available to assist you with this important role. In this session, we will briefly review how to navigate the technical aspects of performance management within the Online Employment System (OES) and discuss how to effectively utilize the module to create an employee development plan that addresses your business need, as well as how to define and assess your employees’ development needs. We will highlight critical strategies to prepare for and conduct development meetings that include creating effective development plans and highlighting support resources for your employees. Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Fundamentals (EEODF) Training
The North Carolina Office of State Human Resources (NC OSHR) coordinates the EEODF training with state agencies and universities. In accordance with the North Carolina general statute 126.16.1, all managers and supervisors are mandated to attend the EEODF session. This course addresses EEO law compliance and issues of workplace diversity in State government. The training focuses on developing awareness and building skills that can be used on the job and to assist managers and supervisors in understanding important employment discrimination laws and impacts to day-to-day managerial decisions.
Attendees must complete a series of online modules prior to attending the training session. It is important to ensure you have at least two (2) weeks to complete the modules, prior to enrolling in the class. Modules cannot be completed the day before the training and are accessed via NC OSHR’s online learning management center https://ncgov.csod.com/client/ncgov/default.aspx at this website and create a user account.
