The University of North Carolina at Pembroke has established two types of payrolls in which to pay employees. These two payroll types have varying pay cycles and are paid at predetermined intervals throughout the year. The employee classification and position assignment determines which pay type an employee will be paid on. The payroll types are as follows:
Monthly payroll includes a broad range of Faculty and Administrative Support salaried personnel who are paid the last day of each month. This includes all permanent faculty and staff, adjuncts, and a select group of flat-rate employees. Permanent employees, who receive special pay such as holiday pay or shift premium pay, will continue to be paid their premium pay in the month after such pay is earned.
Bi-Weekly payroll consist of student and temporary employees who are to be paid every two weeks on Friday. This includes all hourly student and temporary workers at UNC Pembroke.
