What are the Required Fees applied to?
Campus Rates Per Credit Hr. Undergraduate Student Activity Fees $ 29.08 These fees provide funds for non-academic student services and for the maintenance and operation of facilities used in conjunction with those services. Included are funds to operate student union and intramural facilities, and funds that provide for student organizations, yearbooks, and student activities and programs. Health Service Fees $ 8.98 Health Services fees finance health and medical services for students, including the maintenance and operation of the student health service center. See more here...https://www.uncp.edu/campus-life/student-health-services/students/services Debt Service Fees $ 37.42 Under the UNC System policy for the establishment of fees adopted by the Board of Governors in 1993 and revised in 2003, fees for the retirement of indebtedness are approved at the time a project is approved and established at the time that debt is incurred. Indebtedness fees, once established, remain in effect until the debt is retired. Athletic Fees $ 32.56 Athletics fee revenues provide funds for intercollegiate athletic programs and for the maintenance and operation of athletic facilities. This fee provides operating support for the university’s athletic department and programs. This provides support for equipment and uniform purchases. Education & Technology $ 22.25 These fees provide for specialized instructional supplies and services and for scientific and information technology equipment. Campus Security Fees $ 3.33 The 2013-14 UNC Campus Security Initiatives Report included high priority recommendations for new initiatives, staffing, and security measures designed to benefit the UNC System institutions. The Board approved this fee in 2015. This fee provides funding for several of the recommendations made by the UNC Board of Governors’ 2013-14 UNC [system-wide] Campus Security Initiative report which include, but are not limited to, (1) campus police officer and telecommunicator compensation; (2) highly qualified and trained investigators and hearing officers for reports of serious offenses, such as sexual violence; (3) Title IX and Clery Act compliance coordination; (4) substance abuse counselors, case managers, and/or other counseling staff; and (5) system-level safety and security training, coordination, and audit functions. Student Gov't Association $ .04 This fee supports UNC system-level organization that champion the concerns of students and ensures the affordability and accessibility to quality education today and tomorrow. Other Fees Alcohol Haven--or--Everfi $40.00
AlcoholEdu for College and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates are online learning modules hosted through Everfi. These learning modules are non-opinionated, science-based alcohol abuse and sexual assault prevention courses. First-Year Initiatives $100.00
UNCP's Center for Student Success offers various programs and initiatives for first-year students to help with their transition and success as a student. https://www.uncp.edu/departments/center-student-success/new-student-programs/first-year-initiatives Business Passport Fee $35.00
The goal of the Passport to Professional Success Program (the Passport Program) is to enable Business and Accounting students to become more professional in the way they interact with their colleagues, employers, and other professionals in their field. https://www.uncp.edu/academics/colleges-schools/school-business/students/passport-professional-success Student Success Initiatives Fee $25.00 All degree seeking sophomores, juniors, and seniors will be accessed a $25.00 student success initiatives fee for each semester they are enrolled, and the fee will be charged to a student's account. This fee also provides the opportunity to implement new and/or revitalize initiatives such as but not limited to training and development for academic advisors, Braves Boost, Brave Finish, sophomore programming, re-established the Supplemental Instruction, re-establishing academic counseling, and expanding services to students on academic probation. A number of these efforts were previously funded by grants that have expired, discontinued or funded with HEERF dollars. -
