About
Tara Hunt moved from Florida to North Carolina in the summer of 2006. What was supposed to be “temporary” move, Tara ended up staying in NC longer than planned. In November 2006, Tara joined the UNCP, School of Business team as an Administrative Support Associate. In this role, she assisted each department chair, assistant dean, all faculty and all business majors. During this time, Tara developed meaningful relationships with the students and a passion for advising. Tara left UNCP in the fall of 2017 only to return 5 years later into a role she had always hoped for, an Academic Advisor in the School of Business. Tara has worked in higher education the majority of her career, starting in Financial Aid at St. Johns River Community College for eight years and in Human Resources for three years. From there, she spent two and a half years in Human Resources at CSX Railroad in Jacksonville, Florida before coming to North Carolina in 2006. Outside of UNCP, Tara spent five years as the Administrative and Data Analyst at Southeastern Community Action Partnership, Inc for five years.
Tara has an associate in arts degree from St. Johns River Community College in Palatka, Florida, a bachelor of arts degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Management from St. Leo University in St. Leo, Florida and she plans to start her MBA here at UNCP as soon as possible.
