About

Adam Griffiths is a performer, educator, composer, and arts administrator. With a Bachelor of Music in music education with a choral emphasis and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance, both from the University of Utah, Adam is a well-rounded musician who actively seeks unique career opportunities.

Adam spent three years teaching choir and AP Music Theory at Alta High School in Sandy, Utah. During his tenure there he led the choirs to multiple superior ratings at local festivals and the first-place prize at the World Strides Heritage Music festival in Seattle, WA. He has also taught voice lessons privately for the past 10 years.

He returned to the University of Utah and completed his graduate studies. During this period, he performed with the U of U Lyric Opera Ensemble playing the roles of King Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Bob Cratchit in the world premiere opera A Christmas Carol, and the title role in Bernstein’s Candide. He has soloed in many large choral works including Dan Forrest’s Requiem for the Living, Robert Ray’s Gospel Mass, and the premiere of Neely Bruce’s oratorio Circular 14: The Apotheosis of Aristides. Other performing highlights include winning the U of U Concerto Competition, performing in six productions with the Ohio Light Opera company, and winning the inaugural Toian-Bowser Alexander award at the American Traditions Vocal Competition. Adam is also a composer and recently had his choral composition Remember the Songs premiered by the Florida State University Chamber Choir.

Adam’s most recent employment was as a Production Assistant at the College of Music at Florida State University. There he coordinated productions for the college and for community partners including the Tallahassee Ballet, Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, and Tallahassee Youth Orchestras. He also coordinated productions for the Opening Nights at FSU artist series, which included performances from Kristin Chenoweth, The Beach Boys, and Sir James Galway. During the 2020-2021 academic year Adam also became the college’s video editor for the ensemble performances and student recitals.

Prior to his employment at FSU, Adam worked at the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort. He can often be found playing videos games, distance running, and taking Disney vacations with his wife, Wendi.
