BraveNation:

In anticipation of high winds between 4 and 8 p.m. today and the increased possibility of flooding in the region, UNCP will operate under Condition 1 (Reduced Operations) and all afternoon and evening classes will be canceled beginning at 3 p.m.

Normal campus operations will resume Wednesday, January 10.

Under Condition 1, the university remains open but non-mandatory employees may decide to leave early, arrive late or not report, with timely notice to their supervisor. Employees may use leave if not working. Mandatory employees must report to or remain at work unless otherwise notified.

The safety of our students, faculty and staff will remain the top priority. We encourage you to carefully monitor weather conditions in your area and make the best decisions for your personal safety. If it is unsafe to travel, do not risk lives to report to campus.

More information on adverse weather and condition status can be found here: https://www.uncp.edu/additional-adverse-weather-information-and-resources

Should changes in the forecast require further modifications to UNCP operations, the university will issue updates via email, at uncp.edu/weather, on the university's social media channels, through the LiveSafe Mobile App and BRAVEAlert text messaging service. If you haven’t already done so, please download the LiveSafe App to stay connected and receive safety alerts.
