Cotrayia Hardison appointed to UNC-system level board

The University of North Carolina System Association of Student Governments has recently voted-in a third member of the UNC Pembroke Student Government Association into the executive board.

Cotrayia Hardison, UNC Pembroke's SGA public relations officer has been appointed as the vice president of media outreach for ASG. She will be working with all things public relations for the ASG, and is a sophomore studying political science. 

Two additional UNC Pembroke SGA executive officers are also on the ASG executive board. Jacob Newton, SGA government operations chair, is the ASG vice president of finance and budget; and Jorden Revels, SGA vice president is ASG associate minority serving institution representative. 

Revels is a junior psychology major and Newton is a senior in political science and mathematics.

"This is the first time UNCP has ever had three current SGA representatives as executive board members for ASG," explained Kyle Levine, assistant director for student organizations at UNC Pembroke. 

The purpose of the Student Government Association at UNC Pembroke is to represent and safeguard the interests of students. It is a political organization providing students with an avenue for action on matters pertaining to student rights and welfare.

"We are excited for the opportunity each student has to make an impact and be engaged at the system-level," said Abdul Ghaffar, director for Campus Engagement and Leadership. "We are proud to have our students representing UNC Pembroke at ASG."
