Alumnus Marcus Sherman, a bioinformatics PhD candidate at the University of Michigan, spoke with members of UNCP’s RISE (Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement) program on Thursday, March 6. Before his presentation, he held a Q&A session with students regarding his research experience and offered advice about graduate school. Sherman, a 2015 graduate, is a fifth-year student studying structural variation in human genomes.
