One of the most selective groups at the university, the Chancellor Ambassadors is an honor organization comprised of exemplary undergraduate students from the student body at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Selected to serve through a competitive application process, these students act as the official hosts for events held by the Office of the Chancellor and the university. From assisting with high-profile campus visits to attending distinguished university events, members of the Chancellor Ambassadors help foster relationships with all members, friends, alumni and special guests of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke family.
In addition, Ambassadors are frequently asked to share their student experience at UNC Pembroke. The Chancellor Ambassadors assume their responsibilities at a mandatory training where they study the history of the university, discuss etiquette, and tour campus facilities. They are expected to attend meetings and be readily available to host university events planned by the Office of the Chancellor.
Ambassador interviews are held during the Spring semester. The selection of Ambassadors is based on availability and willingness to serve, knowledge of the university, leadership, campus involvement, academic background, poise, and interpersonal and communication skills. Ambassadors must be able to serve for the entire academic year. The Ambassador Selection committee will consider the overall membership of the group to obtain the best representation of the student body. Applications for the 2023-2024 academic year will open on January 15, 2024 and must be submitted by March 15, 2024. Candidates will be considered, interviewed and selected in April 2024.
Serving as an Ambassador is an opportunity and a privilege. You will polish your leadership skills, increase your self-confidence, and learn to better serve others. You will also learn more about your university as you interact with other Ambassadors, members of the faculty and administration, and state and national leaders who visit our campus.
