With four different options in graduate degrees, our Mathematics Education program prepares educators for a range of positions as mathematics educators. Both advance licensure and initial licensure options are available at the graduate level.
Mathematics Education (9-12), M.A.
This pathway is for mathematics educators who already possess an initial teaching license in 9-12 mathematics and are interested in pursuing advanced licensure in the area. Individuals who complete this program will earn 18 hours of mathematics content which would prepare graduates to teach in higher education. Courses are offered in both face-to-face and online settings.
Middle Grades Mathematics Education (6-9), M.A. Ed.
This pathway is for middle grades mathematics teachers who already possess an initial teaching license and are interested in pursuing advanced licensure. Courses are offered in both face-to-face and online settings.
Teaching with Mathematics Education (9-12) Specialization, M.A.T.
The Mathematics Education 9-12 M.A.T pathway are for individuals who have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, or a similar field, and wish to earn to earn their teaching license for mathematics education. Graduates who complete the coursework and all program requirements will earn a Masters of Arts in Teaching and will be recommended for their initial teaching license. This pathway is offered completely online.
Teaching with Middle Grades Mathematics (6-9) Specialization, M.A.T.
The Mathematics Education 6-8 M.A.T pathway are for individuals who have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, or a similar field, and wish to earn to earn their teaching license for mathematics education. Graduates who complete the coursework and all program requirements will earn a Masters of Arts in Teaching and will be recommended for their initial teaching license. This pathway is offered completely online.
