CLA is hosting the opening session of our Passport to Professional Success Week on September 16, 2024, at 3:00 PM. Our Passport to Professional Success Fair is an opportunity for our College of Business students to gain valuable feedback and instruction from business which enhances student’s professional development. The session, titled "Digital Footprint," will focus on leveraging one's digital presence in today's fast-paced social media world. CLA will facilitate a discussion on standing out, avoiding pitfalls, and how a digital footprint can impact one's career.

The Virtual Employer Meet and Greet is a pre-career fair event designed to connect business college students with potential employers in a structured yet informal online setting. Scheduled for 5:30 PM, this event offers students the opportunity to engage with four different employers over the course of 90 minutes. In groups of five, students will spend 15 minutes in a virtual room with each employer, discussing career opportunities, company culture, and industry insights. After each 15-minute session, students will rotate to a new virtual room to meet a different employer, facilitating diverse interactions and broadening their professional network. This event aims to provide valuable time with recruiters, enhancing students' preparation for the upcoming career fair.

The Resume Workshop is a hybrid event, conducted both virtually and in-person, designed to prepare students for the upcoming career fair. Starting at 5:30 PM students will have the opportunity to connect with peers and professionals both online and in person. The workshop will provide students with personalized resume critiques. 

The Mock Interview portion of this event has been cancelled.

The workshop is held in partnership with the UNCP Career Center emphasizing collaborative efforts to support student career development.

The Etiquette Meal is a formal event designed to teach students dining etiquette and professional conduct while providing a unique networking opportunity with faculty and employers. The Student Pop-Up Shop, hosted at the Thomas College of Business and Economics, is an experiential learning event where students from all majors are invited to set up tables to promote their businesses. Registration is required but there is no fee for participation. Running from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, this event provides a platform for students to showcase their entrepreneurial ventures, engage in exploratory exercises, and develop essential skills in leadership and critical thinking. Participants will have the opportunity to build their networks, implement marketing strategies, and work on increasing sales for their businesses. The Pop-Up Shop aims to foster a practical learning environment, encouraging students to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting and gain valuable experience in business operations and management.
