Ret. Rear Admiral, U.S. Navy. Former UNCP trustee. Career naval officer and pilot, Held five command tours, including Commanding Officer, Patrol Squadron Thirty, the largest aviation squadron in the U.S. Navy. Vice president for L-3 Communications.

James Lockemy

History 1971
Chief Judge, South Carolina Court of Appeals. U.S. Army veteran. Retired as full colonel of S.C. Army National Guard. Former member of S.C. House of Representatives. Elected as Circuit Court Judge in 1989. Elected as chief judge in 2016. Served as 2017 UNCP commencement speaker.

Pardon competed in the men’s marathon at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, finishing 41st with a time of 2:17:48, ahead of 114 of the world’s best athletes. All-American in cross country and track & field at UNCP. Four-time all-Peach Belt Conference standout.

Co-founder Cracker Barrel. Former UNCP trustee. Attorney and businessman. Former city judge, city attorney and mayor of Lebanon, Tenn. Former member of the House of Representatives in Tennessee. Experienced pilot.
