About

SFC Pat Young is a Military Science Instructor for the UNC-P Army ROTC program. He has served for over 22 years on active duty in the U.S. Army as an 11B Infantryman and has 4 combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.

He has served as a Fire Team Leader, Squad Leader, Weapons Squad Leader, Operations Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, and First Sergeant in the operational Army, as well as special duty assignments that include providing executive security for Commanding Generals, forensically exploiting IEDs in Iraq, and military advising throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and the CASAs. He has additionally served in several instructor roles to include Senior Drill Sergeant and as an instructor for the Army’s basic leadership course.

SFC Young has three children and resides in Lumberton. His hobbies include target shooting and motorcycle riding. He is also Technical Rescue and Diver certified in North Carolina and volunteers at Lumberton Rescue and EMS where he responds to vehicle accidents and water rescues in Robeson county.
