University Program Specialist
Gordon first joined UNC Pembroke in 2013, as executive assistant to the Dean of the Esther G. Maynor Honors College, and six years later moved to the position of university program specialist for the Office of the General Counsel. He also assisted in administrative duties for the Pembroke Undergraduate Research and Creativity Center from 2013 until 2019. In his role, Gordon is the office manager for the general counsel, and reviews all policies that will be adopted by the university and posted on the general counsel's website. Gordon also works with tort claims and other such situations.
Before coming to Pembroke, Gordon served on active duty in the 82 Airborne Division, 2nd Brigade Combat Team as an Intelligence Analyst. After serving honorably in the US Army, Gordon earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from UNCP in 2012. Then he completed a Master in Arts from UNCP in 2016. Now, Gordon is pursuing his doctorate in writing, rhetoric, and professional communication at ECU. In addition to his duties at in the OGC, Gordon has served on the Staff Council, Conduct Hearing Board, SHRA Grievance Committee, Employee Emergency Relief Fund, and the Coordinated Community Response Team. Additionally, Gordon is a contributing editor for Carolina Country magazine.
