Interim Assistant Dean of The Graduate School
I am very fortunate to have work experience in a variety of industries including health care, hospitality, banking and higher education. I have experience working for Fortune 500 companies, small businesses and government agencies. Hopefully that experience will allow me to provide you with real-life examples and scenarios which will help in your learning and understanding of management.
I have an undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management with a minor in Business from East Carolina University and an MBA from Coastal Carolina University. Prior to joining the faculty at UNCP, I started my career in the hospitality industry as a Catering Director and Food Service Manager with ARAMARK at Coastal Carolina University.
During my MBA I had an internship at Citigroup working in their International Personal Banking division developing banking products for individuals in Latin America with a net worth between $250,000 to $3,000,000. From there I transitioned back into the hospitality industry briefly before taking a job at UNC Pembroke.
I have now been at UNC Pembroke for 12 years. During that time I was the Associate Director of Admissions which is one of the management positions in the office prior to coming to the School of Business where I now serve as the MBA Director. I'm also excited to announce that I will be starting my Ph.D. in Business Administration at UNC Greensboro in the fall. I'm looking forward to this new and exciting challenge.
