UNCP's Ed Hunt receives statewide agriculture award
Since joining the Thomas Entrepreneurship Hub at UNC Pembroke in 2018, Ed Hunt has been dedicated to fostering partnerships with the agricultural and business communities. Hunt is credited with developing agriculture businesses and jobs related to agriculture and providing a much-needed boost in the local economy. Hunt's dedication and commitment were recognized on the state level as he was presented the Excellence in Regional Collaboration Award during the North Carolina Rural Center's 2022 Rural Summit. The event was held at the North Raleigh Hilton on Tuesday.
UNCP senior Kiara Moore awarded John M. Belk Impact Fellowship
Kiara Moore is the first student from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke to be accepted into the John M. Belk Impact Fellowship, granted by The Hunt Institute. The paid, 10-month fellowship focuses on training social impact leaders through various projects, including policy briefs and research, social media efforts and quantitative analysis. Moore is looking forward to supporting programs and systems that promote equity in all levels of education.
Dr. Suzanne Altobello named Belk Distinguished Professor for the College of Business and Economics
Dr. Suzanne Altobello has been named the William Henry Belk Distinguished Professor Chair in Business Administration at UNC Pembroke. Altobello returns to UNCP after serving three years as a business faculty member from 2015 to 2018. She has more than 20 years of teaching experience in higher education, including internationally.
