Thomas College of Business & Economics celebrates Global Entrepreneurship Week

Michael Robinson was exposed to the world of entrepreneurship from a young age. Robinson's parents own a Crown Trophy franchise, and his brother operates a wine and beer lounge in Winston-Salem. Robinson knew he wanted to own his own business. Still, it wasn’t until he became a student at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke that he discovered his self-assurance.

Thomas School of Business earns AACSB accreditation extension

The Thomas School of Business at UNC Pembroke has been granted an extension of accreditation of its undergraduate and graduate programs — a distinction obtained by less than 6% of business schools worldwide.

UNCP signs MOU with France’s Montpellier Business School

UNC Pembroke is expanding its global reach with the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Montpellier Business School — among the top French business schools in Europe. The partnership provides the framework for future academic collaborations, including joint curricular programs, collaborative research student and faculty exchange opportunities.

UNCP students present at IMPACT national conference

UNC Pembroke student leaders Timothy Moore and Aspen Andersson were among the presenters at the 2023 IMPACT Conference held at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst February 23-26. Their presentation focused on incorporating a student engagement model within the service-learning curriculum, which helps shape UNCP faculty and staff into service-learning catalysts.

UNCP student leaders recognized at national conference

UNC Pembroke seniors Samuel Bowen and Kiarra Payton earned the Outstanding Educational Session Award during the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) South Regional Conference. The event was held in Atlanta, Ga., from September 29 to October 1.

UNCP names Dr. Mohamed Djerdjouri dean of the Thomas School of Business

Dr. Mohamed Djerdjouri, a highly successful academic leader with more than three decades of experience in higher education, has been appointed dean of the Thomas School of Business at UNC Pembroke. Djerdjouri currently serves as dean of the Johnson College of Business and Economics at the University of South Carolina-Upstate. Provost Marsha Pollard made the announcement following a competitive national search. The Board of Trustees voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the search committee.

UNCP celebrates opening of James A. Thomas Hall

Under a beautiful blue sky, nearly 400 guests, including dozens of local and state officials, celebrated the opening of the James A. Thomas Hall––a state-of-the-art facility where UNC Pembroke is preparing future business leaders of our region. The new building––home to the Thomas School of Business––will drive the university’s efforts to continue building an educated workforce in southeastern North Carolina.
