Notification of Required Testing Protocol & Vaccination Incentives
Ongoing surveillance testing: Beginning August 23, all residential students will be required to participate in bi-weekly (every other week) COVID-19 surveillance testing on campus. Students who fail to participate in the bi-weekly COVID-19 surveillance testing may be subject to the student conduct process, loss of on-campus housing privileges or both.
Note: Students who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 have the option to OPT-OUT of the testing requirement by providing proof of vaccination status through the student patient portal. All students who provide proof of full vaccination status through the Student Health Services Patient Portal will be exempt from any required surveillance testing.
If you have ANY symptoms related to COVID-19 on the day you are scheduled for a surveillance test, you should not go for testing. Instead, contact UNCP Student Health Services at 910.521.6219 for guidance and evaluation.
Surveillance testing on campus is free for all students. The testing process is fast and convenient, making it easy to incorporate into a bi-weekly (every two weeks) routine.
Follow these easy steps for the surveillance testing process:
Step 1: Selected surveillance program participants will receive a notification with details to conduct a test on specific days.
Step 2: On the day of the test, participants should visit one of the campus collection locations. Students can go online to their Student Health Services Patient Portal to schedule a Residential COVID-19 Test appointment. Walk-in appointments are accepted as well.
Step 3: Participants should arrive at the test site with their UNCP ID, phone and insurance card.
Special considerations: A negative test does not mean you will remain negative at any time point after that test. If presumptive positive, a confirmation swab (viral PCR test) may be collected.

- Pine Hall Multipurpose Room (Pine Hall and Oak Hall residents): Monday, Tuesday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m., 1-4 p.m.
