Forever Motown, an all-star celebration of the golden age of R&B, is coming to the GPAC stage on April 24

Forever Motown, an all-star celebration of the golden age of R&B, is coming to the Givens Performing Arts Center (GPAC) at UNC Pembroke on April 24 at 7:30 p.m. The show features an all-star live band, including former lead singers of The Temptations, The Spinners and The Marvelettes.

Tickets range from $39 to $49 for adults.

G.C. Cameron appeared on The Spinners' first big hit, 1970s “It's a Shame,” co-written and produced by Stevie Wonder. Cameron is also known for his rendition of “It's So Hard to Say

Goodbye to Yesterday,” which was featured on the soundtrack of the 1975 movie Coolie High and subsequently remade by Boyz II Men in the early '90s. The Spinners were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2023.

Glenn Carl Leonard was the first tenor and lead singer of The Temptations from 1975 to 1983, performing on songs like “I'm on Fire,” “Go for It,” “The Best of Both Worlds,” “Open Their Eyes,” “Ever Ready Love” and the classic Christmas song “Silent Night” from The

Temptations' Give Love at Christmas LP. In 1982, he joined The Temptations Reunion Tour, leaving the following year to enter full-time ministry.

Traci Robinson-Greene has appeared in theatre, film and television, including School Daze,

Malcolm X, The Cosby Show, David Letterman Show and the eight-time Tony-nominated Broadway hit, Sophisticated Ladies. Fulfilling a lifelong dream, she became the lead singer of the Marvelettes in 1991.
