Due to the ongoing impacts of winter weather, UNCP will remain in Condition 2 (Suspended Operations) through 11:59 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2. All in-person classes scheduled for Monday are canceled. All fully online classes, both synchronous and asynchronous, will be held as scheduled.

Under Condition 2, only employees designated as mandatory should report to campus. Mandatory employees who have questions about whether they should report to work, or who are unable to report due to weather-related conditions, should contact their supervisor directly. All other employees should not report to campus.

Campus Resources for Residential Students

Dining services will remain available for on-campus residential students during this period. The following campus resources will be open Monday with adjusted hours:

  • The HawksNest: 1 to 6 p.m.
  • Campbell Wellness Center and Jones Center: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Mary Livermore Library: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Residential students are encouraged to remain indoors as much as possible due to cold temperatures and lingering winter weather conditions. If heading outdoors, please wear warm layers, use caution and limit travel. Facilities staff continue to treat high-traffic areas, but icy conditions may persist on sidewalks, steps and stairwells.

Next Update

An update regarding Tuesday’s operating condition will be communicated by 5 p.m. Monday. Please continue to monitor official university communications, including your email, UNCP.edu and BraveAlert, for the most up-to-date information.

As we navigate this winter weather, UNCP’s first and foremost consideration is your safety. Whether travel is work-related or personal, please use caution, exercise your best judgment and check road condition information on the NCDOT website.
