About

Beata Niedzialkowska teaches a variety of art history courses including art history survey, courses in Medieval and Renaissance Art and Contemporary Art. She received her M.A. in Italian Renaissance art and her Ph.D. in Northern Renaissance art from the University of Iowa. Her area of specialization is art of Northern Europe and Poland in the Late Middle Ages. She is interested in the influence of Flemish art in Poland, female artistic patronage, and devotional imagery of late medieval Poland.  She has focused on the artistic patronage of Queen Elizabeth of Habsburg of the Jagiellonian Dynasty and the Queen’s commissions in Krakow, Poland. Beata’s current interests are in reliquaries including the golden reliquary of St. Stanislaus of Poland.
