Ground was broken March 6, 2006, for a new classroom building that will bear the name of a man who played a major role in the early years of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Record-shattering enrollment continued into its 13th consecutive semester this spring at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Chancellor Allen C. Meadors reported February 24 to the Board of Trustees.

Enrollment in the spring semester is 5,336 compared with 5,132 for spring 2005, Meadors said. (Enrollment data is calculated separately for spring and fall semesters.)
