Writing Center

University Writing Center

The University Writing Center staff works with UNCP students at any stage in the writing process, from brainstorming topics to drafting, revising, and editing. UNCP students from any course or department are welcome. Tutors work with students on all types of writing assignments. Students are welcome to use Writing Center computers to draft and revise their writing. We also support writers in such tasks as accessing library databases, word processing, formatting, implementing various citation styles, creating presentations and research posters, and other aspects of academic communication.

"I was introduced to the Writing Center soon after my first day here at UNCP. The more I wrote the more I dropped by the Writing Center. To my surprise, hard work and trips to the Writing Center paid off. I was given a scholarship my first semester. Whether it is to improve your grades, try out writing styles, or get your ideas on paper, I can think of no better place to spend valuable time than the Writing Center."   - James Hampton
