Rip Turner named 2013 Employee of the Year
Turner (Enrollment Management) was named Staff Council’s Employee of the Year. On January 7, The Staff Council presented him with a plaque, gifts, including GPAC tickets and Act One dining for two, and a reserved parking space for the year.
Turner joined the university in 2006. “I have never received a complaint about Rip or his service,” said Lela Clark, director of Admissions. “I have, however, received calls from external constituents who wanted to tell me what a great job our switchboard operator does.”
“He is the first voice of the university for many of our callers, and he is the first point of contact for visitors who come into Lumbee Hall,” Clark said. “We all know how important first impressions are and Rip is a great ambassador for UNCP. Rip’s positive attitude and outstanding customer service has contributed greatly to our recruitment efforts and success throughout his time at UNCP.”
