Board of Visitors

Mission

The Board of Visitors for The University of North Carolina at Pembroke assists the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees in communicating the university’s message in advocacy, increasing community and corporate engagement, assisting with philanthropic support, recruiting high-quality students, and bringing visibility and contacts to the campus from across the region and beyond.

 

Purpose and Function

The Board of Visitors shall have the following functions:

A.  to assist the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees in enhancing the reputation of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke among universities in the southeast and beyond;

B.  to explain The University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s educational purpose, mission and accomplishments, and to be advocates for its educational aspirations to the people of the region and beyond;

C.  to help the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees in clearly understanding the attitudes, hopes and expectations that the people of the region, state and beyond have for The University of North Carolina at Pembroke; and

D.  to assist the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees on specific projects as may be requested of the Board from time to time.
