In this episode, author Brittany Hunt, reads her new children's book, "Whoz Ya People?" with illustrations by Bea Brayboy. Afterwards, Hunt discusses the meaning behind the phrase and answers questions about the books inspiration and her Lumbee heritage during the QnA.
About the author
Brittany Hunt is from Lumberton, NC. She earned a Master’s of Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill and a B.A. in Psychology from Duke University. She is a Ph.D. student in Curriculum and Instruction at UNC Charlotte and plans to graduate in May 2021. After graduation, she hopes to pursue teaching at a university in North Carolina.
About the illustrator
Bea Locklear Brayboy is a self taught from North Carolina and a member of the Lumbee Tribe. She is a retired school teacher and enjoys time with her grandchildren, painting and volunteering in her community.
