Waiver Agreement 1 I fully recognize that there are dangers and risks to which I may be exposed by traveling in my own or another person’s or the UNCP’s vehicle to and from and by participating in the airport pick-up in or near Pembroke, North Carolina and Raleigh, North Carolina (hereinafter “Activity”).

Waiver Agreement 2 The risks associated with this Activity include, but are not limited to, a vehicle collision or personal injuries to myself or others such as head trauma, multiple bodily injuries, and/or the possible loss of life. Specific risks with this Activity can include the following: luggage related injuries. The risks may arise not only from my own action, inaction, or negligence, but also from the action, inaction, or negligence of others, or the condition of the premises or of any equipment used. I also recognize that there may be other risks not presently known or reasonably foreseeable. I voluntarily assume full responsibility for all risks that may arise out of or result from my participation in this Activity, including but not limited to those risks described above.

Waiver Agreement 3 I fully recognize and am aware of the risks and hazards associated with travel and residence, and I acknowledge that said participation in this activity is elected by me voluntarily and is not required by the University.

Waiver Agreement 4 In consideration of and return for the services, facilities, and other assistance provided to me by UNCP in connection with this Activity, I agree, on behalf of myself, my family, heirs, and personal representative(s), to assume all the risks and responsibilities surrounding my participation in the Activity. 

Waiver Agreement 5 To the maximum extent permitted by law, I release and indemnify The University of North Carolina, The University of North Carolina Board of Governors, The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and their respective trustees, officers, employees, and agents, in both their official and personal capacities, from and against any present or future claims, suits, liabilities, judgments, cost and expenses (“claims”) for any property damage, personal injury or illness, death or any other loss due to, among other things, negligence, mistake, or failure to supervise, that I may suffer, or for which I may be liable to any other person, during my participation in the Activity. I explicitly agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any claim(s) arising from or related to my own acts or omissions in connection with my participation in the Activity.

Waiver Agreement 6 I recognize that this Release means I am giving up, among other things, rights to sue The University of North Carolina, The University of North Carolina Board of Governors, The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and their respective trustees, officers, employees, and agents, in both their official and personal capacities, for injuries, damages, and losses I may incur during my participation in the Activity. I also understand that this Release binds my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, as well as myself.

Waiver Agreement 7 I represent that I am 18 years of age or older, unless the form is also signed below by my parent or legal guardian.

Waiver Agreement 8 By signing this form I am agreeing to the following conditions: that I will notify International Programs when my flight is delayed or canceled so arrangements can be made for a later pick up. If my flight arrives well past the original arrival time I understand it may be necessary to stay at a local hotel near the airport or to make alternative travel arrangements to UNCP at my expense.

Waiver Agreement 9 Airport transfers are offered solely as a convenience to our international students and scholars. Participation in the service is voluntary, and travelers are free to make their own independent arrangements if they prefer. Neither UNCP, nor International Programs, or their representatives, agents or delegates (etc.) may be held liable or responsible for missed flights, missed connections or other travel consequences. Travelers are solely responsible for contacting airlines (etc.) in a timely manner in the event of delays or other travel changes.
