Assistant Director for Inclusive Education
Victoria A. Walters, M.A. (she/they) is the inaugural assistant director for inclusive education in the Office of Student Inclusion and Diversity at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Victoria earned a Master of Arts in higher education Student Affairs from Eastern Michigan University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with concentrations in professional writing and literary studies with a minor in communication from Appalachian State University.
Victoria’s motto is “growth through intentional revolutionary education.” She is a proud fat Black queer femme from the South and is very glad to be back. Victoria is a lover of words, learning, and feelings. With Brené Brown levels of love for vulnerability, Victoria is dedicated to acknowledging, interrogating, and unlearning her own biases every day.
Victoria has served in numerous leadership capacities throughout her undergraduate, graduate, and professional careers, advancing equity and advocating for marginalized students. She has presented at conferences around the country on topics such as LGBTQIA+ whitewashing in media, reproductive justice, mental health awareness, and socially responsible volunteering.
