Steve Skillman is the principal horn of the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra and the Long Bay Symphony in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He is also a frequent performer with the Wilmington Symphony, North Carolina Symphony, Opera Carolina, and chamber groups throughout the region. He has appeared in shows in Myrtle Beach with Burt Bacharach, Barry Manilow, Johnny Mathis, and the late Ray Charles, as well as many touring Broadway productions. Mr. Skillman served as a teacher and administrator for thirty years in Brunswick County, North Carolina, and also taught horn at UNC Wilmington. He received Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from East Carolina University, where he studied with James Parnell. Mr. Skillman is a former president of the Brunswick Arts Council, and is a recipient of the Award of Excellence from the North Carolina Bandmaster’s Association.
