About

Samantha (Sam) Wilson is a lecturer of composition in the Department of English, Theatre, and World Languages. She has experience teaching college level writing and literature courses as well as high school English, Special Education, and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination). She earned her BA in English from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida and her MA in Humanities with a focus on Studies in Literature from the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, Texas. Her teaching philosophy is founded on building relationships with students; she strives to create a classroom environment where each student feels comfortable to participate, ask questions, and take educational risks in pursuit of his/her/their interests. She may be teaching writing, but she hopes her students are also learning about themselves and the world around them. Wilson has lived in Florida, Missouri, North Carolina, and Texas. She currently lives in Hartsville, South Carolina with her husband and two children. She enjoys reading, being in the outdoors, and trying new foods.
