About
Mia Kennedy, Ph.D., LCMHCA, LSC, NCC, GCDF is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling. She earned her doctoral degree in Counseling and Counselor Education program from North Carolina State University and her master’s in School Counseling from North Carolina A&T State University. Her research interests include school counselor preparation, career development, career-focused counseling, and anti-racist and social justice counseling. She has presented at local, state, and national education and counseling conferences on these topics. She is a member of the Chi Sigma Iota International Counseling Honor Society, American Counseling Association, American School Counselor Association, North Carolina School Counselor Association, National Career Development Association, North Carolina Career Development Association, Association of Counselor Education and Supervision, Southern Association of Counselor Education and Supervision, Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE), Association for Career and Technical Education Research, ACTE Counseling and Career Development Division, and North Carolina ACTE Counseling and Career Development Division. She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF), and holds licensure as a professional school counselor and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina.
