H. Jay Blauser and his team, under guidance of the director of Facilities- Planning, Design & Construction (PDC), work to manage the University's capital project coordination (CPC) process, which includes all construction, renovation and related contract activities. He also served as Freshman Seminar Instructor/Lecturer, responsible for classroom instruction ensuring students are successful at UNC Pembroke and beyond. He joined the UNC Pembroke "Braves Team" in February 2014 as the campus’s first sustainability director and chief sustainability officer before transferring to PDC.
Prior to serving at UNC Pembroke, he has 17 years of experience as capital project coordinator (CPC), maintenance supervisor, sustainability director and energy manager. This included a six-year tour of duty in the U.S. Air Force overseeing maintenance, training and unit combat readiness. He is certified by the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMP), the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP BD+C), the Green Building Initiative as a Green Globes Professional (GGP), NCSU Cooperative Extension as a stormwater BMP maintenance inspector, Everblue as a sustainability manager, The State of North Carolina as a firefighter (Level 1 & 2) and licensed EMT. He holds degrees in Architectural Technology (A.A.S.), Criminal Justice (B.S.) and Human Resources Development (M.A.) from Fayetteville Technical Community College, Fayetteville State University and Webster University, respectively.
