About

Dr. Mulvaney attended the University of Arizona where she received both her BS in Rehabilitation and MA in Special Education. She later achieved an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. Dr. Mulvaney worked in various positions in public schools in Arizona.  She spent nine years serving privately as the Educational Specialist for an independent living program serving youth aging out of foster care.

Prior to relocating back to New Jersey in 2016, Dr. Mulvaney served as the Department Chair for Education at Central Arizona College (CAC), and Hispanic Service Institute in Pinal County, Arizona.

In 2016, Dr. Mulvaney began her career at Monmouth University as the Assistant Dean for the School of Education where she oversaw all assessment and accreditation efforts for the school. She also provided administrative oversight to the Office of Certification, Field Placement, Advising and School Partnerships. In this role she successfully led in attaining accreditation for teacher preparation (CAEP), school counseling and SACC (CACREP) and Speech Language Pathology (ASHA/CAA). All three accreditations were affirmed with no areas for improvements or stipulations. Dr. Mulvaney was also appointed by the Provost as the Acting Dean for the School of Education after the Dean announced his retirement in 2022. She returned to faculty to obtain faculty status in hopes to return to administration with academic status.

Achieving the goal of gaining faculty status, Dr. Mulvaney currently serves as an Associate Professor in Educational Leadership in the Department of Educational Counseling and Leadership at Monmouth University (MU).

Dr. Mulvaney began her tenure as Dean, School of Education at UNC Pembroke in January 2024. She currently resides in Raeford, NC with her two dogs, Ollie, and Charlie.
