David Hibbard returned to the UNCP Advancement team in November 2022 as Associate Director, Advancement Communications. He previously served in several roles in the Advancement office from 2016 to 2019. Most recently, he worked as Development Coordinator at Scotland Memorial Foundation in Laurinburg, where he oversaw events, worked closely with the foundation board, and managed a variety of internal and external projects.

Hibbard’s background includes significant experience in both the non-profit and higher education sectors, including roles at Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity and Scotland Regional Hospice. He spent 15 years at his alma mater, Elon University, working in media relations and communications positions, including seven years as News Bureau Director. He began his career in college athletics as the first full-time sports information director at Presbyterian College before returning to Elon in 1993, where he served as assistant athletic director for sports information and media relations for seven year before moving to the Office of University Communications.
