About

Catherine Parisian earned her PhD in 2006 from the University of Virginia where she specialized in bibliographical and book history studies as well as British Literature of the Eighteenth Century. In 2008, she joined the Department of English, Theatre, and World Languages where she teaches British Literature before 1790, Literature and Film, Women’s Literature, and the British Novel. She has published two books: The First White House Library: A History and Annotated Catalogue (Penn State UP, 2008) and Frances Burney’s Cecilia: A Publishing History (Ashgate, 2010). Her research interests include Frances Burney as well as printing and publishing history. She also enjoys spending time with her cats and her husband, traveling, reading, and attending the theatre.
