About

Anastasia graduated in May of 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with the intention of becoming a clinical psychologist. During her time at UNCP she received a Maynor Study Abroad Scholarship to study abroad in the Czech Republic with Dr. Kirill Bumin. During the study abroad trip students visited different companies to learn about international marketing techniques.

Anastasia felt the most rewarding aspect of the Honors College was the senior project. She learned how to research properly under the supervision of a professional in her field and learned about writing that is required for her field. The most surprising thing about the Honors College for Anastasia was the way the professors taught. The honors professors not only made the classes challenging, they also made the classes fun for the students. This is what made the experience great: the professors structuring challenging work in a fun way.

For her senior project Anastasia did research on relationships and mental health and how a relationship can affect your mental health. She chose this topic because she has always been a bit of a romantic and being a psychology major she began to ponder the relation between relationships and mental health and sparked the curiosity that inspired her project.

After graduation Anastasia is going to graduate school to become a clinical psychologist; she has applied to UNC Charlotte and Oklahoma State. At some point in the future she would like to travel the world and explore it.
