UNCP’s Dr. Stephanie Robinson appointed to state addiction board

Dr. Stephanie Robinson, an assistant professor in the Department of Counseling at UNC Pembroke was recently appointed to the  North Carolina Addiction Specialist Professional Practice Board (NCASPPB).

Robinson will serve a three-year term. She previously served on the NCASPPB from 2019-2020. The recent appointment was made by Sen. Pro Tempore Phil Berger. The NCASPPB aims to protect public health, safety and welfare by establishing standards for professional practice that assure the highest degree of professional care in addiction counseling.

At UNCP, Robinson also serves as the Graduate Certificate in Addictions Counseling coordinator, in which she prepares counseling students for addiction-specific counseling careers and advocacy roles.

Dr. Robinson is nationally recognized as an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (AADC) and a board certified National Certified Counselor (NCC). She is currently president of the North Carolina Addictions and Offender Counselor Association.
