Myia Reyes, Dr. Ashley McMillan and Dr. Velinda Woriax attended the College Board's NASAI in Phoenix, Arizona June 9-10, 2022

UNC Pembroke faculty and staff recently attended the College Board’s 2022 Native American Student Advocacy Institute (NASAI) in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dr. Ashley McMillian and Myia Reyes of the American Indian Heritage Center and Dr. Velinda Woriax, professor and chair of the Department of Biology, were in attendance. McMillan serves as the center’s director and the American Indian Liaison to the Chancellor. Reyes is the program coordinator.

The NASAI conference is for education professionals who want to make a difference for American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian students by addressing the educational challenges and gaps facing Native students.
