UNCP releases new promotional video

Academic excellence and the economic impact of The University of North Carolina are featured in a new video released in August 2004. View Video Online.

campusCoordinated by the Office for University and Community Relations (UCR), the video is 11 minutes long and available in DVD, VHS and CD-ROM formats, said Dr. Glen Burnette Jr., vice chancellor for UCR.

"This is the first video marketing piece of its kind produced for the University," Dr. Burnette said. "The purpose of this video is to promote the University within the business community, international audiences and community partners, as well as the general public."

UNCP's prior videos were aimed at prospective students, and the University lacked a promotional tool for general audiences. The video was produced by Earnhardt and Company of Nashville, Tenn.

The audio was translated into Spanish and Chinese and has found an international audience.

"It has gone to South America with students studying in Peru and to China," Dr. Burnette said. "In fact, it found its first official audience in China."

"UNCP's faculty and staff are committed to excellence, and this video showcases some of what we do best," Dr. Burnette said. "We had some outstanding spokespersons in ChancellorMeadors Meadors, Sen. Elizabeth Dole, UNC President Molly Broad, state Sen. David Weinstein and others."

The video is available by calling the Office for University and Community Relations at (910) 521-6249. It may also be seen on Time Warner Cable's Community Channel 6 in Robeson County.
