The UNCP chapter of Sigma Tau Delta celebrated National Novel Writing Month 2019 with creativity through camaraderie.
“I love how our majors are so passionate about writing and their creative processes,” said Dr. Abigail Mann, the organization's adviser. “It’s easy in November to just drown under approaching deadlines, but they were eager to carve out space to keep working on their own writing.”
Throughout the month, Sigma Tau Delta members gathered once a week to work on their own writing and share the results. Chapter members also discussed short readings that further inspired their creativity.
“Sigma Tau Delta is hoping to keep this going in the new year,” Mann said.
Sigma Tau Delta provides opportunities for students interested in English language and literature to join with like-minded peers on local, regional, national, and international levels and to participate in and present professional work at conferences and conventions. UNCP’s Sigma Tau Delta chapter invites students majoring or minoring in English to join.
