Celebrity chef Vivian Howard makes a stop at UNC Pembroke as she explores the roots of Southern hospitality and collards–a household staple in the South,

Howard examines the South’s love affair with collards in the new six-part series “Somewhere South," which aired Friday, April 24. The “It’s a Greens Thing” episode was recorded during Howard’s visit to Robeson County over the summer.

Howard took part in Lumbee Homecoming in downtown Pembroke and toured the Museum of the Southeast American Indian to learn more about American Indian history and culture.
