Renee Lamphere (Sociology & Criminal Justice) teaches by example and inspires students to make a difference in the lives of others.  For an impressive sixth year in a row, her freshman seminar course has won the “SOUPer Bowl Challenge” sponsored by the UNC Pembroke CARE Resource Center.  The students coordinated the donation of 375 non-perishable food items to the center’s food pantry, the most of any student group.  For their efforts, they received a pizza party courtesy of the center.

“Like every other year, I am beyond proud of by students for putting in the time to give back to such a worthy cause!” states Lamphere.

The CARE Resource Center houses an on-campus food panty and a professional clothing closet open to students, faculty, staff, and community members. For more information, follow this link.
