University monitoring weather conditions

Call for artists for the third annual juried 9|9 Native South Art Exhibition

The Museum of the Southeast American Indian announces a call for art for the third annual juried 9|9 Native South Art Exhibition, which celebrates American Indian artists throughout the Southeast. 

 

All genres of art are accepted, including 2D, 3D and mixed media. Artists must be 18 or older and members of a state or federally-recognized tribe. Submissions are limited to three works per artist.

Work may be submitted at the Museum of the Southeast American Indian from August 18-23. The exhibit will be displayed from September 9, 2024 to February 28, 2025. The museum is in Old Main on the campus of UNC Pembroke.

The mission of the Museum of the Southeast American Indian is to educate and serve the public about the prehistory, history, culture, art and contemporary issues of American Indians, with particular emphasis on American Indian communities of Robeson County, N.C. and the American Southeast; to conduct scholarly research; to collect and preserve the material culture of Native America; to encourage American Indian artists and crafts persons; and to cooperate on a wide range of research and service projects with other institutions and agencies concerned with American Indians.
