The Biology Department is pleased to announce the Outstanding Student Award to Mr. Brandon Wade Wallace.  Mr. Wallace graduated Summa Cum Laude, spring 2021, with a degree in biology.

Read what Dr. Erika Young has to say about Brandon:

"I first met Brandon in 2019, a then chemistry major who quickly converted to biology in his pursuit of medicine.   He discovered his passion for medicine when life- changing events occurred after Hurricane Matthew.  Once Brandon was in control of his life again, his interest and focus became ultimately clear; he would dedicate his life (with his second chance), to become a PA.  He is quite a sponge in learning new things, and is crazily in love with bats and is an excellent foster parent to cats.

A prior math major and an absolute wiz with all things IT, Brandon is well-rounded and as tables often turn, he became an instructor to many of his professors, including myself, during the transition to distance/hybrid learning due to COVID-19.  He is currently employed in Spring Lake earning his clinical hours for PA school."

Brandon's award was conferred in July 2021.
