ArvinMeritor is a global manufacturer of automotive components and systems. The company operates in more than 150 facilities in 27 countries with the greatest concentration of sites in North America and Europe.

Coleman has worked at the Maxton facility since its start up in 1988. He was the chief financial officer in 2000 before moving into the site manager position with responsibility for the entire operation in 2004.

“ArvinMeritor is a strong supporter of educational initiatives,” Coleman said. “Companies need to be a team with the education system and the development of students for all three to remain competitive in today's global business environment.”

ArvinMeritor partners with a number of colleges and universities to connect students to our college co-op, intern and graduate opportunities, including internship programs. In particular the company partners with universities and colleges who celebrate diversity such as UNCP.

“UNC Pembroke appreciates the successful partnership it shares and the support of corporate entities such as ArvinMeritor,” Chancellor Meadors said.

Headquartered in Troy, Mich., ArvinMeritor has sales of $8 billion annually and employs 32,000 worldwide.
